In his mid nineties, he is one of the remaining scholars of the Hindu epic  The Maha Bhagavatham. He looked much like the sages straight out of picture strips comics we grew up with.

This is my mother lost in Krishnanattom perfomanace in her favorite temple, Guruvayur.

At 94 she is agile and happy and lives with 4 generations under her. When I reached this home to shoot some great grandchildren this saintly old lady was hand washing her own clothes in her back yard. The moment she saw me without hesitation she greeted me  with 'namasthe' displaying culture and affection.
